Data & Media Storage Vault

DATA TAPES, FILM, VIDEO, AND VITAL RECORDS STORAGE

Williams has the technology and systems in order to make sure that its facilities are as secure as possible for media, data tapes and vital records storage. Our FIRELOCK® VAULTS are world class, totally self-contained and individually protected by separate fire suppression sytems. Digital media isn't permanent. DLT/LTO tape backups, and film and video tapes last only about 5-8 years if they are not stored properly. Humidity, dust, UV light, not to mention catastrophic fire, all put your data - and company's future - at serious risk. And with new laws in place -- Sarbanes-Oxley, Graham-Leach-Bliley, and HIPAA --that require companies to preserve records far into the future, it's more important than ever to find the right data protection solution. The solution is Williams Data Management.

Controlled Mantrap Entry: Entry to the media storage area and the FIRELOCK® Vaults is only by biometric and digitally controlled access. Only authorized and credentialed personnel are granted an entry combination. Once the first entry door is closed, there is a mantrap. To gain admittance through the second door, the authorized personnel must go through the same process again and enter through another biometric plus digital entry combination to establish entry into the media storage area. Once inside the area, you are in a temperature controlled space. It is an ambient temperature environment, with relative humidity between 40 and 45 percent and temperatures between 68 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Firelock® Vault: Data Tape and Media Storage in our Firelock® Vault is the surest protection available. Items are stored in the FIRELOCK® vaults, each having surveillance cameras and microphones, so everything is monitored and fireproofed. Each vault is constructed with structural steel mesh and ceramic fiber walls engineered to withstand 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, and has a Four Hour Rating. Each vault has Novic dry fire suppression system, and Gemtrac units to slot your backup tape media, and steel shelving to store steel tape cases, and Vital Records Containers. Williams uses the Gemtrac storage system for tapes, where each tape slot and tape is given a permanent barcode, is scanned, and is placed and matched for archiving. By doing so, each storage case, container, and individual data tape is identified by a barcode, enabling tracking chain of custody record that is available 24/7 through the Williams inventory management system. The Williams - Firelock® Vault has the highest fire rating of any media vault in our industry.

24/7 Web Access: The Williams inventory management system, powered by O'Neil Software, is available 24/7 to authorized users. Access to your chain of custody records are a mouse click away. Rest assured 24/7 - your backup data tapes, vital records, and video and film media are protected and tracked always.
