Demo Storage Vault
The Williams Records Firelock Vault
Unsurpassed Data Storage and Media Protection.
Your digital data never had it so good. Cool and secure within the highest-performing media vault in the industry, your critical data remains perfectly preserved and protected against magnetic fields, elements, and fire.
Each vault panel is constructed of specially spun ceramic capable of withstanding thousands of degrees.
Consider this:
Our competitors are using a vault fabricated from sheetrock which can withstand a fire for about seven minutes, or they are using a concrete vault which can withstand the flame for 30 minutes. However, the Williams Firelock Vault, constructed with a high, temperature-resistant, ceramic insulating fiber, structural steel and mesh, can hold off a fire for four hours.
The most danger to media comes from the steam, and transfer of heat to data, not from the flame itself. The Firelock Vault's steel vapor barrier protects against steam. Self-sealing cable trays protect electrical and communications cables against conduit heat transfer similar to radiation shields in nuclear power plants. The thermal break between our vault's double door construction strengthens the heat barrier.
What about protections against a fire starting inside the vault? Our Firelock Vault incorporates 3M's NOVEC 1230 as a clean agent fire suppression system. This media-friendly product is non-conductive, does not leave any residue, and does not deplete the ozone layer.
Humidity and Dust:
Magnetic shielding eliminates electromagnetic fields that can damage media. And advanced environmental controls ensure that dust, humidity, and temperature are optimally maintained to the highest industry standards. A unique steel structural system offers three times the strength of the average building.
Williams has the latest technology in order to make sure that its facilities are as secure as possible for media, data tapes and vital records storage. Our FIRELOCK VAULTS are world class, fully self contained and protected by separate fire suppression sytems.
Entry to the FIRELOCK Vaults is only by biometric and digitally controlled access. Only authorized and credentialed person is granted an entry combination. Once the door is closed, there is a mantrap. To gain admittance through the second door, the person must go through the same process again and enter through another biometric plus digital entry combination.
Once inside the self contained unit, you are in a temperature controlled space. It is an ambient temperature environment, with relative humidity between 40 and 45 percent and temperatures between 68 and 70 degrees F. Items are stored in the FIRELOCK vaults, each having surveillance cameras and microphones, so everything is monitored and fireproofed. . Williams uses the Gemtrac storage system for tapes, where each tape is given a data barcode, scanned, and slotted for archiving. As always, each tape case and individual data tape is identified by a barcode, giving it also a digital record that is available any time of day through the O’Neil system.
At Williams, any media device is fully integrated and accessible to the customer by the same software interface. Other options for media storage include individual steel locked containers (only clients themselves lock and access it), giving the item to Williams already locked, or any other method the client prefers. The most important thing is that Williams will work with the customer to assure their data privacy.
Offsite Media and Data Vaulting
Backing up your data off-site in our Firelock Vault is the surest protection available.
How Safe Are Your Digital Records?
With a computer on every desktop and complex backup systems in place, it's easy to think your critical records are safer than ever.
Except that digital media isn't permanent. CD ROMs, tape backups, and microfilm last only about 5-8 years if they are not stored properly. humidity, dust, UV light, not to mention catastrophic fire, all put your data - and company's future - at serious risk. And with new laws in place -- Sarbanes-Oxley, Graham-Leach-Bliley, and HIPAA --that require companies to preserve records far into the future, it's more important than ever to find the right data protection solution.
The Williams Records Firelock Vault has the highest fire rating of any media vault in our industry.
